Just 15 minutes of daily moderate exercise may add three years to your life. The latest research out this week reports that if inactive people increased their physical activity by just 15 minutes per day, they could reduce their risk of death by 14% and increase their life expectancy by three years. Many people find it hard to meet the standard guideline of 30 minutes a day of exercise, five days a week. Experts hope that by identifying a lower dose, more people will be motivated to get off the couch. The study was conducted by researchers in Taiwan and published by The Lancet on Tuesday.

How to squeeze in 15 minutes of exercise? Try taking the stairs whenever you can; skip the elevator. Park the car further away. Go for a walk or bike ride. Even low levels of physical activity still provides health benefits.
